SOMATIC EXPERIENCING WITH ANDREA LOPEZ, RN-BSN

Resolution Over Suppression

For practitioners and individuals ready to stop managing symptoms and address the root cause.

THE APPROACH

Most tools help you cope.

Somatic Experiencing helps you resolve.

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach that works directly with the nervous system to resolve stored stress and trauma.

It helps uncouple past experiences from present-day responses…

so your patients aren’t reacting from old survival patterns, but from what’s actually happening now.

When the nervous system is dysregulated, the body stays stuck in protective states… even when the original threat is gone.

This impacts everything… digestion, hormones, immune response, pain signaling, and the ability to engage with the treatment plan.

Until that’s addressed, protocols can only go so far.

Somatic Experiencing works by gradually restoring nervous system regulation and increasing capacity… allowing the body to shift out of those protective states and actually respond to care.

The result?

Better adherence… improved symptom patterns… and more consistent progress in the recovery journey.

If you’re ready to integrate nervous system work in a way that actually supports outcomes… I’d love to connect.

This is where things begin to SHIFT

You already know the nervous system plays a major role in recovery.

You’ve come in contact with the usual tools… breathwork, meditation, journaling, even cold exposure… but nothing seems to actually move the needle.

And that’s where it gets frustrating.

Because at a certain point, it’s not about what’s being prescribed, it’s about whether the nervous system has the capacity to respond.

Somatic Experiencing provides true resolution to symptoms the medical model often doesn’t have the tools to address.

When the nervous system is supported, the body becomes more responsive, more regulated, and more capable of healing.

WHO THIS IS FOR

You've tried everything.

This is what's been missing.

Practitioners

  • Your patient's labs are normal, but they're not fine

  • Traditional somatic practices (e.g. breath work, meditation, etc) aren't moving the needle

  • Symptoms keep returning with no clear cause

  • You've ruled everything out and still have no answers

  • Medication is managing symptoms, not resolving them

  • You're looking for a somatic referral you can trust

Individuals

  • Endless doctors appointments with no real answers

  • You've tried talk therapy, but still feel stuck

  • Feeling like you're too much, or broken

  • Worried there will never be real resolve — just, 'suck it up, and cope'

  • Symptoms that come back "unexplained" on every test

  • You've been dismissed with a label but no real path forward

  • You're done with medication as a bandaid

MY PHILOSOPHY

I address the nervous system component that impacts compliance, physiological receptivity, and treatment outcomes—so your clients can follow through and actually improve.

Discover if Somatic Experiencing is the missing link and your last stop to better patient outcomes.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

“Before working with Andrea, I was dealing with chronic symptoms—headaches, neck pain, digestive issues, insomnia—that felt completely unpredictable.

Over time, I realized my flares were tied to chronic stress and pushing past my limits, but nothing I tried fully resolved it.

Since our work together, I haven’t had a significant bout of insomnia in months—for the first time in nearly 3 years—and my pain flares have stopped. I can’t deny that my nervous system was the missing piece all along.”

MEET YOUR PRACTITIONER

Hey, I'm Andrea.

I've been a nurse (fluffy and human kind) for 13 years.

With over a decade of experience in nursing, I’ve seen firsthand how often chronic and complex symptoms persist...despite doing everything “right.”

My work focuses on the missing link: the nervous system.

Blending a clinical background with advanced training in somatic work, functional health, and behavioral science, I support clients in addressing the underlying patterns that impact healing, regulation, and long-term outcomes.

With over seven years of experience in Somatic Experiencing, I help bridge the gap between physiology and lived experience, so the body can finally begin to respond, integrate, and shift.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Somatic Experiencing?

L
K

Unlike general “somatic tools,” Somatic Experiencing is a structured, clinical approach.

Developed within psychotherapy by Dr. Peter Levine, it works with your nervous system to process unresolved stress, unexplained chronic symptoms, and the underlying trauma contributing to them - so you’re not just managing symptoms, but addressing the source.

How do I know if Somatic Experiencing is for me/patient or client?

L
K

This is for individuals who:

Have done the work—therapy, functional health, lifestyle changes—but still feel stuck

Are dealing with ongoing symptoms like fatigue, anxiety, sleep issues, or hormone imbalances

Feel like their body always “on” or hard to settle

Have some progress… then stalls or reverses

Are looking for real change—not just more tools to manage symptoms

How many sessions are needed to see change?

L
K

Most clients gain clarity on their symptoms and build foundational skills in the first few sessions.

Around session 5–6, more noticeable shifts often begin to occur.

The full timeline depends on how deeply ingrained the pattern is, as this work focuses on resolving the underlying response - not just managing symptoms.

How is this different from other nervous system work?

L
K

Most nervous system tools help you cope.
Somatic Experiencing helps you resolve.

Instead of giving you techniques to calm down, we work with what’s causing the reaction in your body.

So you’re not relying on tools to feel okay - the symptoms don’t show up the same way (or as often), and your body can stay more steady on its own.

How is this different from talk therapy?

L
K

Talk therapy helps you understand your thoughts and emotions.

Somatic Experiencing works with how your body is reacting.

That’s why you can know you’re fine but still feel anxious or shut down.

Somatic Experiencing helps change that response - so your body can regulate, improving energy, hormones, and overall health.

How is this different from EMDR?

L
K

Approaches like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing often involve activating specific memories, while Somatic Experiencing works to shift how your body responds to stress so it no longer reacts the same way.

This allows for deeper, more complete processing - without needing to relive the experience.

How does this compliment my functional health journey?

L
K

Sometimes your system links current situations to past stress, keeping cortisol and blood sugar elevated - even when there is no real threat.

Somatic Experiencing helps correct those stress-response patterns at the source - so your body can regulate naturally, improving energy, mood, recovery, and creating lasting change instead of temporary symptom relief.

Do we take insurance?

L
K

No insurance - for now.

We’re a self-pay practice, which allows us to focus fully on your care rather than insurance limitations.
